We need to tell it like it is and not hold back with the emotions. If the story is engaging, readers will be inclined to donate, which is exactly what we want.
When we set a certain milestone or deadline for a fundraiser, we increase the chances for donation. That’s because deadlines create a sense of urgency in people and thus prompt them to donate. The urgency aspect paired with the emotionality aspect is a dream combination that rarely fails.
Start with your close circles

The best way to personally reach out to them through phone calls or their preferred instant messaging tools. Don’t start your campaign publicly if you are not confident enough people would support you. If you have already built a loyal public community, you can start on social media instead.

Many for-profit companies, like Netflix, for instance, have become successful due to this strategy, so why not nonprofits? People don’t like to think about things that are too far in the future, so they opt for monthly subscription plans. They make life so much easier.
According to a recent study, monthly subscribers donate 43% more money than one-timers.
Fundraisers should use this piece of information wisely and base their donation process around it. So, rather than asking people around for a larger sum of money, we like to ask them for a specific small amount, once a month.
Recurring donations for nonprofits are the way to go if you want to start a fundraiser. Not only do they attract more donors but they also allow the fundraiser to grow. Those who don’t use monthly donations typically have extreme highs and lows that can’t ever be predicted. And believe us, that’s not something you want.
Choose the proper tools for fundraising
Having a good idea is not enough for a fundraiser to succeed. We need to have the proper tools to create it first.
Even if we manage to create a fundraiser, we can’t just expect users to come in and press the donate button. We have to advertise it, and then advertise it some more.
